The only laws I respect are ones against murder, rape/sexual assault, cheating, physical aggressiveness, and stealing. Any other laws are Man’s feeble attempts to control society. If humility is the ability to remove oneself from the equation, our laws demonstrate the opposite: they are attempts to have people be controlling factors. The weakness of society is the lack of faith and the dependance on sight. Just because you haven’t seen someone get punished does not mean they haven’t been or won’t be. Laws of men depend on actually seeing someone be punished when the point of laws should not be the punishment but the idea of changing people from bad to good; to persuade us from bad choices. Just LET IT BE. Hasn’t the government learned anything from Prohibition? Laws like that only anger the people. Things like gay marriage or anything that doesn’t injure or harm another lifeform should not have laws forced upon them because that is their choice and their judgment is weighed when they die. It is not for us to pass judgment and punishment. These laws epitomize nothing but the arrogance of Man. A humble world = a better world. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for RIGHTEOUSNESS, for they will be filled.” —Matthew 5:6
If you truly want to be biblical in your laws, how about making laws based on the commandment of love? “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” —Mark 12:30-31
